These new releases are only cumulative updates that, while they bring security patches and bug fixes, they don’t bring any new features to Windows 10. For the PC version of Windows 10 version 1511, Microsoft is rolling out cumulative updates KB3147458 (and KB3147461).
April 2016, Patch Tuesday for Windows 10 PC (build 10586.218)
Key changes with the update includes:
Fixed bug that caused connectivity problems with USB devices during reboot. Fixed several issues with the Lock screen. Fixed audio playback on Groove music and other apps. Fixed problem with revised daylight saving time. Added support for visual voicemail on dual SIM phones. Improved printer discoverability when computers resumes from sleep. Improved security of CSRSS to fix security feature bypass. Improved reliability for IE11, .NET Framework, wireless LAN, Microsoft Edge, Windows Update, logon, Bluetooth, network connectivity, map apps, video playback, Cortana, USB, Windows Explorer, and Narrator. Fixed additional problems with shutdown delays, Narrator, Cortana, roaming data usage, buying apps in the Store, video playback, facial recognition, Bluetooth pairing, Microsoft Edge, logon, IE11, Live Tile updates, .NET Framework, and Microsoft Installer (MSI). Fixed security issues with Security Account Manager Remote Protocol, HTTP.sys, secondary logon, Microsoft Graphics component, .NET Framework, CSRSS, Microsoft Edge, and IE11.
April 2016, Patch Tuesday for Windows 10 Mobile (build 10586.218)
For the Windows 10 Mobile version 1511, build 10586.218 brings the following key changes:
Reliability, performance, and stability improvements. Added support for visual voicemail on dual SIM phones. Fixed issue that caused certain apps to show blank tiles after upgrading from Windows Phone 8.1. Improvements for Bluetooth connectivity, including the reliability of connecting to and staying connected with Bluetooth devices. Fixed audio playback on Groove music and other apps. Microsoft Edge now supports prompt before a file begins to download, support for background downloads, and an issue has been fixed where opening a link from another app wouldn’t load the page. Cortana includes improvements reading text messages aloud and there are a few improvements for the Quiet Hours feature. PC connectivity via USB on some phones that were upgraded from Windows Phone 8.1 has been improved. Fixed issue where the Store prevented some apps from been updated or installed.
Both cumulative updates part of the new April 2016 Patch Tuesday are available immediately non-insider PCs and Windows 10 Mobile. The updates bumping the operating system to build 10586.218 will download and install automatically, but you can always go to Settings > Update & security> Windows Update and manually force the download.
