A year has already passed since the launch, and so far Microsoft has sold over 240 million Windows 7 licences. Microsoft also is reporting that Windows 7 is running in more than 1.2 billion Windows PCs, and as September, 93% are from new customer PCs. In less than a year Windows 7 gained more than 17% of the global operating system share worldwide (according to Net Applications), making this version of Microsoft Windows the fastest selling OS in history. A good reason to celebrate! Microsoft seems to be pretty optimistic for what it’s been accomplished and how people are reacting to the product, keeping in mind that the operating system was released into one of the hardest economic times we had in recent history. Today we still recovering from it and customers continue to slowly adopt Windows 7, about 90% of companies have upgraded or started the transition. But there is more work to do from Microsoft’s part as Windows XP is one of the operating systems that people keep holding on to, and the same with Vista. Good job Windows 7! Also don’t forget that Windows 7 SP1 is around the corner. Source Windows News Center and Windows Blogs Remember to leave a comment in the section below. Thanks!
