From a distance the Miix 700 looks identical, if not a clone, of the Microsoft’s Surface Pro 3 and Surface 3, but there are features that makes this tablet different. For example, the new tablet has an adjustable kickstand with Lenovo’s watchband hinge, similar to what you’ll find today in the Yoga 3 Pro, and like the Surface Pro 3, it offers a number of positions. People who have demo the device said the kickstand feels very sturdy. Perhaps one of the features that standout it the detachable keyboard that magnetically snaps into place of the Miix 700 with two typing positions. Again, the keyboard looks very similar to the Surface Pro 3 TypeCover, which Lenovo is definitely improving the design, but it’s bulkier and a bit thicker than the Microsoft’s version.

While it’s early to tell if it works better than the TypeCover, the keyboard cover in the Miix 700 looks better, it’s bigger, and it seems to have a better and larger trackpad, which is a big plus. The Lenovo Miix 700 tablet comes in different configurations, it features Intel’s 6th-gen “Skylake” processors from a new Core M3 up to a M7 processor. You can also get it with up to 8GB of RAM. There are also two full size USB ports (2.0 and 3.0), and 256GB of RAM. The 12-inch display packs a 2160 x 1440 pixels, which is a lot more than high-definition. It only weighs 1.7-pounds and Lenovo claims up to 9 hours of battery life on a single charge. Optionally, you can get the tablet with LTE or Intel’s RealSense 3D camera, which will allow you to use Windows Hello to sign-in to Windows 10. And there is a pen, which is likely to come bundle with the tablet. The Lenovo Miix 700 is set to be available in November, with a starting price of $699 for the lower-end configuration and the price just goes up from there.
