The company, thinking that this change was going to benefit users, they also thought on those who will not be pleased with the change, so they added a setting to get the text buttons back in Gmail. To get the text buttons back on Gmail, do the following:
Go to the Gmail’s settings. Click the gear button in the top-right corner of the page and select Settings.
From the General tab, look for the option: “Button Labels”, and check Text.
Finally scroll to the bottom of the page and click Save Settings. Then just go back to the inbox and see the old text labels on the toolbar.
